Replaced with stainless steel overbraided PTFE lines. Would strongly recommend use of PTFE rather than rubber as PTFE won't degrade.

Yup.. And they won't 'sweat' fuel so you won't get that constant slight background whiff of petrol as is common with rubber hoses.   Bye, Arno.
Biggest issue with mine. I must do them again.

I found the large carbon fibre dashboard plates kept falling down, so made some mounts similar to the OEM plates. I used some extruded aluminium LED trunking (from ebay). and fir tree clips (Vauxhall parts are same as MG parts for future information).

The mounting face was cut very 5 mm or so to provide a better bonding surface.

Those mounts look good, what kind of tools do you have?

This was all with a junior hacksaw. No need for anything more serious with aluminium.

I see, you bought it that shape, I thought you bent it. I really struggle to find decent fir tree clips for the vinyl door cards. The white ones on ebay aren't string enough and they rattle. Are the yellow ones similar to the original black clips?

They seem to be identical.

These are the weak clips, good for the plastic door cards though as you can remove them easier but not strong enough for the foam vinyl door cards. Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400104911564

New Clutch

Long before I changed the engine to the B207, I picked up a new old stock Z22SE clutch kit on ebay and decided to use that on the new engine. I hadn't experienced any clutch slip with the previous engine so didn't expect any problems with this one. I was completely wrong and had clutch slip from day one. I covered about 500 frustrating miles in the car last summer before a starting fault made me SORN it and I spent most of the winter putting off the clutch change.

Old clutch:

Flywheel:

Flywheel looks slightly polished and the clutch looks like it has had uneven pressure from the cover plate (shiny areas seem to match bolt holes for the cover plate). Makes me wonder if this new old stock part has a mismatched cover plate, or if I originally didn't torque the nuts enough.

Anyway. I gave the flywheel a light sand with 240 grit paper to key the surface, gave everything a liberal dousing with clutch cleaner and fitted the new clutch, along with new aerotight nuts. When putting the car back together I discovered that the new SC belt is shorter than the one I previously fitted, so that may have been slipping too.

Anyway, car now feels great. Need to tidy up the interior and fit a new boot release with soldered ends (current one keeps slipping).

What did you fit Tom - a new C20LET clutch?

Yup. There are about 3 people on the forum reporting slip issues with new Z22SE clutches, all of which were cured with the C20LET so didn't see the need to go for anything more extreme.

So if you want a new clutch on a Z22SE or B207 you're better off getting a C20LET clutch kit?

If your engine is producing much more torque than standard (such as if its supercharged) or if you plan on heavy use, then yes. The feel and weight is essentially the same (in my experience), and they cost about the same, so I'd probably go for one by default now..

Was 500 miles/6 months old so reused the old one. If it was older I would have changed.

Was your old Z22SE engine already supercharged?

Yes. If I recall correctly it was supercharged for around 20k before it dropped a valve. I know MartinS experienced clutch slip with his new Z22SE clutch too, so it may be that Vauxhall have changed suppliers or started using lower quality material.
