Exhaust Manifold
Uprated Fuel Pump
Larger Injectors around 900cc/min mark.
Bigger Turbo (Garrett GXT30 or larger or equiv from some other manufacturer).
3+ Inch Exhaust (3 inch will be a restriction, 3.5+ would be better).
6 Paddle Clutch
Larger Inlet Pipework from airbox to turbo
Improved airbox.
Larger MAF.
LSD/ATB and sticky tyres to put the power down
A new map
Enlarged throttlebody
Intercooler.
Upsized air pipes from turbo to throttlebody.
Oil cooler.
Uprated suspension to cope with the power.
Uprated engine mounts to cope with the twisting of the engine.
Oil jets to cool the pistons.
External wastegate probably.
Heat shielding.
Block/waterway strengthening.
Super cool running spark plugs.
Modified oil + waterway pipes to turbo.
Also without major cylinder head changes like larger valves, big lift cams you are going to need a big turbo. Probably a GT3076 or even a GT35 - however these will induce lag...
Adam, you need to read my entire website and digest it carefully - I have specially written it to help others, please take advantage of it. There is an almost overwhelming amount of stuff you need to consider changing and it will cost you a LOT and take a long time.
Getting to a more realistic 400 BHP would be achievable without some of these mods above. 400 BHP is a lot of power for a titchy car like the VX and assuming you are a capable driver I can't imagine any standard road cars overtaking you on a track except the odd thing like a Porsch GT1, Radical, Norma.

thanks very much for that reply nev, i was thinking of pm'ing you but didnt realy want to bother you
![]()
as for that goes there is alot more work involved than i expected but was worth me asking i gues........
as for the 400bhp i might be tempted to do this as i have a few weeks before my car will be back from paint and the engine will be out of the astra by monday to get it ready to go in the vx
But before you put the engine in the VXT could you please send the ECU to sweden first.
Or see what happened to it in the mail.
