I fitted a Parking Dynamics http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/ rear kit

That was the sort of thing I was looking out for. I knew I had seen invisible ones in the past but I had no idea how it worked, what they where called or where to find them. Glad in a way that you say they are not that accurate I guess that is why 95% of the ones manufacturers fit are ultrasonic.

have you got a daylight rear picture to see what they look like from a distance?
do you find them useful?

No picture yet I'll get one up soon. Really I want to spray them a better yellow but it's hard knowing what will be a good match just by going by the top of the can, I don't want to buy loads just for the sake of finding one good one.

Usefull, hmmm I guess so. Like I said I never really had any issue parking or reversing the car before. Obviously they are not going to detect things to the side with their only being two of them but they do help a bit with letting you know how near you are getting to something directly behind.

Basically pointless mod, very impressively well exectuted. Your work is a true credit to your natural craftmanship and presumably restless mind! Im not sure if i mean the mirror or the sensors....maybe both?

Yeah they work fine and I would say they are worth having fitted. Having them has not really affected the way I manouvere, I tend to ignore them to some extent and still rely on my own judgement as before. They are good as a back up but I don't feel like I could place my trust solely in them. The one time they do eventually alert me to something though, which in time I am sure they will, they will have probably proved their worth.

Obviously with there only being two and their location their usefullness at detecting anything other than what is directly behind is going to be limited. Also IMO the constant tone kicks in slightly too soon as you still have a good 11 inches of space left between the rear most point of the car and a wall etc when it sounds. This was surprising especially given that they are recessed by an inch or so aswell.

Rather poor quality dirty car pic -

Is this mod really worth doing? Apart from weight saving what else do you get?

It's not that essential to be fair, mainly weight saving.
